SYLLABUS FOR DEPARTMENTAL COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION FOR THE

 POST OF POSTMASTER GRADE- I IN POST OFFICES.

1.  The examination for Postmaster Grade– I, will consist of two papers of 100 questions & 90
minutes duration each. The questions will be on the pattern of objective type multiple
choice questions.(MCQ)
2.  Syllabus for these two papers is given below.

PAPER –II 
a.  Knowledge of products & services of Department of Posts.
b.  Marketing:- Principles of Marketing assessment of related products & services.
c.  PLI/RPLI, Post Office Insurance Fund Rules: Outline knowledge about insurance schemes,
Mutual fund & other financial products & services in the market.
d.  General Awareness & Current affairs, including general mental ability test covering
reasoning (verbal & non-verbal), Numerical analysis(arithmetic) & basic mathematical
equations & statistical tools like mean, median, mode, graphical representation of data,
comprehension & basic language skills.
e.  General principles of technology.
f.  Basic technology requirement- Computer, server, laptop.
g.  Connectivity of Computers.

Details of vacancy position in respect of reserved posts and details of backlog vacancies in Central Government Departments is not centrally maintained. A Special Recruitment Drive was launched in 2008 to fill up the backlog reserved vacancies of Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Other Backward Classes (OBC), which continued till 31.03.2012. The details of recruitment/ appointments made during the drive were as under:

   The vacancies are filled as per the provisions of the Recruitment Rules and if Recruitment Rules permit lateral entry, the backlog vacancies may also be filled through the lateral entry route.

This was stated by Shri V. Narayanasamy, Minister of State in the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pension and Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office in written reply to a question by   Shri Ashok Kumar today.

GRATUITY PAY UNDER NEW PENSION SYSTEM

Death-cum-Retirement Gratuity is paid to Central Government employees under New Pension System (NPS) as it is paid under the old pension scheme. The monthly annuity under the New Pension System (NPS) is only a replacement of pension on retirement and family pension of death after retirement. The benefits of Death cum Retirement Gratuity (DCRG) and pension/family pension have been provisionally allowed,  vide the Office Memorandum of Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare No. 38/41/06-P & PW(A) dated 5.5.2009 in respect of Central Government servants covered under NPS in cases where a Government Servant is retired on invalidation/disability and in the case of death of a Government servant in service on the same rates as are applicable under the old pension scheme Central Civil Service (Pension) Rules, 1972. The retirement gratuity is payable to the retiring Government servant. A minimum of 5 years’ qualifying service and eligibility to receive service gratuity/pension is essential to get this one time lump sum benefit. Retirement gratuity is calculated @ 1/4th of a month’s Basic Pay plus Dearness Allowance drawn before retirement for each completed six monthly period of qualifying service. The maximum retirement gratuity payable is 16½ times the Basic Pay, subject to a maximum of Rs. 10 lakh. If the Government Servant dies while in service, the death gratuity shall be paid to his family at rates furnished in the table below: Sl. No. Length of Qualifying Service Rate of Death Gratuity 1. அன்புத் தோழர்களே ! வணக்கம் ! கீழே மத்திய மண்டலத்தில் நடைபெற்ற இருமாதங்களுக்கு ஒரு முறையிலான பேட்டியின் பதிவு நகல்  உங்கள் பார்வைக்கு அளிக்கப் பட்டுள்ளது. கிட்டத்தட்ட 8 மாதங்களுக்கே மேலாக திருச்சி மண்டலத்தில் BUSINESS  HOURS  ஏழு மணி நேரமாக  , COMPUTERIZED NORMS  அடிப்படையில்  நீட்டிக்கப் பட்டிருந்தது  உங்களுக்கு தெரியும். இது குறித்து RJCM  இல் நாம் பிரச்சினை எடுத்திருந் ததும் இந்த வலைத்தளத்தில் ஏற்கனவே பிரசுரிக்கப் பட்டுள்ளது. 

தற்போது PMG  CR அவர்கள் , HSG /LSG  அலுவலகங்கள் தவிர (EXCLUSIVE  COUNTERS )  இதர அலுவலகங்களில்  BUSINESS  HOURS ஐக் குறைக்க ஒப்புக்கொண்டு (ITEM NO.2/04/2013) அதன் மீது  உத்திரவு இட்டுள்ளார்கள்.  இந்த உத்திரவு தஞ்சை கோட்டத்தில் 75 அலுவலகங்களில்  அமல் படுத்தப் பட்டுள்ளதாக , அதன் நகலை நமது தஞ்சை கோட்டத்தின் செயலர் தோழர். செல்வகுமார் அவர்கள் நமக்கு  அனுப்பி  மாநிலச் சங்கத்திற்கு நன்றி தெரிவித்துள்ளார்கள்.  இதுபோல  மற்றைய கோட்ட/கிளைச் செயலர்களும் அவர்கள் கோட்டத்தில் அமல் படுத்தப் பட்டதா என்பதை மாநிலச் சங்கத்திற்கு தெரிவிக்க வேண்டுகிறோம்.  இல்லையேல் அந்தந்த கோட்ட கண்காணிப்பாளரை அணுகி உடன் இதுபோல் உத்திரவு  பெற ஆவன செய்திட வேண்டுகிறோம்.

கடந்த 04.05.2013 முதல் 06.05.2013 வரை கொல்கத்தா மாநகரில் நடைபெற்ற மத்திய அரசு ஊழியர் மகா சம்மேளனத்தின்  24 ஆவது தேசிய மாநாட்டில்  நம்முடைய அஞ்சல் மூன்றின் பொதுச் செயலரும், NFPE  சம்மேளனத்தின் மாபொதுச் செயலரும் ஆகியதொழிற் சங்கப் போராளி தோழர் . M . கிருஷ்ணன்  அவர்கள் மத்திய அரசு ஊழியர் மகா சம்மேளனத்தின் மாபொதுச்  செயலராகவும் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப் பட்டார்  என்பதை  மகிழ்ச்சியுடன் தெரிவித்துக் கொள்கிறோம் . 

1966 இல் துவங்கப்பட்ட மகா சம்மேளன அமைப்பிற்கு நமது NFPTE/NFPE   பேரியக்கத்திலிருந்து  மாபொதுச்  செயலர் பொறுப்பு பெறுவது இதுவே முதல் முறை . தொழிற் சங்க வரலாற்றில் இது ஒரு மைல் கல்.

மத்திய அரசு ஊழியர் மகா சம்மேளனம் என்பது மத்திய அரசுத் துறையில் இயங்கி வரும் 106 சங்கங்களை உள்ளடக்கியது. 13 லட்சம்  ஊழியர்கள் இந்த அமைப்பில் உறுப்பினர்களாக இருக்கிறார்கள் .

தோழர் கிருஷ்ணன் தலைமையில் 7ஆவது ஊதியக் குழு , 50% பஞ்சப்  படி அடிப்படை ஊதியத்துடன் இணைப்பு, 5 கட்ட பதவி உயர்வு உள்ளிட்ட கோரிக்கைகளை நிச்சயம் வென்ற டைவோம் என்பது உறுதி . இந்த நிகழ்வு  NFPE  பேரியக்க வரலாற்றில் நிச்சயம் பதிக்கப் படும் .

தமிழ் மாநில அஞ்சல் மூன்று சங்கம்  வரலாற்று முத்திரை பதிக்க தோழர் கிருஷ்ணன் அவர்களை வாழ்த்துகிறது !
